The PEP™ Method
JHill’s Staffing Services believes that employers want to hire people with PEP. So what is PEP and why should you want to hire someone with it? PEP stands for Productivity, Efficiency and Performance. The most qualified candidates are the ones who can illustrate to you how they can increase the overall Productivity, Efficiency and Performance of your organization. When we screen and prepare our candidates for their interview with you, we have them look at how they can bring their PEP into your position. It is important that every job seeker understands their PEP and how their PEP effects their overall value proposition to the company they are interviewing with.
Below are a few of the questions we ask candidates to help prepare them for their interview with you:
- Productivity-How have you increased the productivity of your company and/or the people you work with?
- Efficiency-Where have you demonstrated efficiency in your prior positions?
- Performance-How have you enhanced your overall performance, as well as that of the organization in your prior position?
One of the hardest questions a job seeker will ever be asked to answer effectively in an interview is: “Why should we hire you?” The answer to this question can often be frustrating for hiring managers because many job seekers answer this question by simply saying that they are “hard working,” “reliable” and/or “intelligent.” The trouble with answering this question with a “one word” descriptive answer is that the job seeker is not offering any evidence to support how this is an accurate statement. This is where the “PEP” Method™ comes in. Once a candidate understands how to clearly communicate their value through their PEP, they can more readily make a case for why you, as the employer, should hire them. This, in turn, makes the hiring process run more smoothly for both parties.
